Feliz Año Nuevo

Good-bye 2019. Bring it, 2020!

For the past several years, I’ve flown back to New York City from Texas on New Year’s Eve Day, and honestly, I’ve come to understand and realize that that’s a mistake.

When it comes to cherishing the last full day of an entire year (or in this case, an entire decade), maybe it’s best spent with people you care about and those who actually helped define the past 12 months (or even longer) of your life. I mean, better them than the incredibly exasperated travelers who forget to take their belts off before going through TSA security lines. They must have also noticed it was cheaper to leave on the 31st.

But expenses shouldn’t always trump experiences, which of course, vary from person to person. Regardless of where you choose to be, New Year’s is an opportunity for reflection, and reflection is a powerful tool. It prepares us for what to expect or even what to construct for ourselves for a brand new year. I’m excited to be able to do that back home in Eagle Pass, Texas, this year.

I hope that each of you are exactly where you need to be to say goodbye to not just another year, but another decade of memories (both good and bad) in the hopes of finding joy in the unknown.

Happy New Year!
