Quentin Lee + Bee Vang
A member of the Producer’s Guild of America, Quentin Lee has directed and produced over ten features. His first feature SHOPPING FOR FANGS (co-directed with Justin Lin) premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and became a cult classic as part of Asian American New Wave 1997. His subsequent features DRIFT, ETHAN MAO, THE PEOPLE I’VE SLEPT WITH, WHITE FROG, and THE UNBIDDEN have been sold and played festivals worldwide such as AFI Fest, Vancouver International, Hawaii International, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires Independent, Turin, and Cardiff.
Asian-American actor Bee Vang entered the limelight in 2008 when director Clint Eastwood tapped him to play Thao Vang Lor — a young man who unwisely steals the classic car of a Detroit autoworker (Eastwood) and inherits far more than he bargained for — in the urban drama Gran Torino. Bee attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. At Brown, Vang pursued an acting career and study filmmaking, as well as the Chinese language. He was part of the Asian American Students Association at Brown.
