Gurl, The Revolution Will Not Be Gluten-free

No Me Digas. Op-Ed: Keith Price

18 U.S. Code § 2384 – Seditious Conspiracy- If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

As I try to get back to the original piece that I had started writing for the new year, I keep getting pulled away by more foolishness. I promise to get back to it, but after last week’s Insurrection at the Capitol, I thought that the display of white privilege had hit a new high.  “Amerikkka” never ceases to amaze me.  We have already established ad nauseam, that if those insurrectionists/seditionists were Black, Muslim, etc., then they would have never made it that far because the scale of protection would have not been that lax. Ask anyone who has planned a protest, a march, or anything in our nation’s capital, and they will echo that sentiment.

In addition to Seditious Conspiracy, Trump also signed an executive order demanding federal prosecutors throw the book at those who damage federal property. It includes charging vandals under a provision of the federal code that provides for sentences of up to 10 years in prison. Under the plain language of the executive order alone, the terrorists who stormed the Capitol — as well as President Trump himself — should now be in jeopardy of federal prosecution. A second Impeachment is still not enough, however enjoyable it is to see happen.

These are the laws that are on the books with the punishments fitting the crimes that we all witnessed our fellow Americans committing. For some reason, these crimes have not yet been charged to any of the major actors/idiots/terrorists that have been busted for participating in the most devastating domestic attack to happen at the Capitol building since 1812. So far the charges being pursued are: 1.) knowingly entering and remaining in a restricted area, 2.)violent entry,  3.) disorderly conduct,  and 4.) theft of property.

According to many of the protesters, this protest was supposed to be peaceful. I am sure that the makeshift gallows that were waiting for some potentially unfortunate person in zip ties, are the perfect decorations for a peaceful, pop up rebellion, wouldn’t you say?

Of course, these tough and hard Americans that are fighting for their rights lose serious points with me in the rebellion game, especially if they enter it with diet restrictions. Like this notable figure. After his arrest, his hunger strike immediately made the paper because he must have organic food. The prison does not usually provide an organic food meal plan. I am truly shocked. And in a show of true white male privilege, a judge granted him his required organic food diet befitting an insurrectionist / Q Anon Shaman. I wonder if anyone arrested in the Black Lives Matter protest had a dietary restriction?   Being an OZ devotee, I wonder if the Aryan Brotherhood recognizes an all-organic diet? I can’t remember. However, with that body and assuming that he will be found guilty and spend some time in jail, he will be VERY popular.

As we watch this all unfold, please remember the agencies handling the investigation are now spearheaded by the office temps specifically placed by Trump, after he fired the original folks that he appointed, or they simply “resigned.”  I feel that any information gathered now will certainly be tainted by somebody in that mix, but since I also enjoy my edibles and am a bit of a conspiracy theorist, I must own my governmental distrust and paranoia.

Since Impeachment Deux, we are now bracing for the possibility of more insurrections across the country from the insurgents who made it back to their homes,  and the ones who could not afford to make the big trip to D.C. .  I wonder how large a resistance could be created within this country that our own military could not handle? It can’t be that formidable. Hopefully, neither we nor the authorities will ignore the supportive agents and agencies that this uprising received.

These folks felt emboldened to do what they did because since the Kent State massacre these rebel types have operated knowing the government wouldn’t dare put itself on record as killing its own citizens again. One woman did get shot and died trying to break into the Capitol, and as awful as it may sound, I cannot and will not be empathetic.

After an unsuccessful coup attempt, if these folks want to try it again, then I have a feeling that they will be martyrs for their cause this time. Considering the mettle of these protesters, are we seriously expected to fear an insurrectionist with harsh dietary restrictions? I guess the vegan rebels have not figured out that in the Hunger Games/Mad Max future they are pushing us towards, the revolution might be on Instagram, but it will not be gluten-free.

Wear a mask. Wash your hands. Stay Distanced.
