Alice Gu began her cinematography career initially as a still photographer. After graduating with her BFA in photography from the University of California, San Diego, she started by shooting stills for the music industry, for companies like Sony Music, URB, and BPM/ DJ mixed magazines. She soon realized that she could actualize her creative vision further in moving images and began pursuing a career in the motion picture world.
