Recently, the Undecided Voter has been afforded the opportunity to symbolically ask the “tough” questions to the President in his ABC Town Hall, while Joe Biden did the same for CNN. I can only imagine how hard the decision making must be. Watching Trump ramble and lie sent me from hysterical fits of laughter to moments of tears for this country. He did not answer one person’s actual question. The only question that I am left with is, “what are we gonna do if this idiot gets re-elected?”
Of course, the gaffe that caught our ears was Trump saying “herd mentality” instead of “herd immunity”. Why? Because it is something that his latest “medical expert” as been pushing. Rachel Maddow did this insane breakdown, showing the numbers of deaths by COVID-19 that must happen to achieve “herd immunity” status. More than 200 thousand people have already died due to the negligence of this president. It makes the idea that six million people need to die sound even more ludicrous and sinister. Instead of acknowledging it, he doubles down by having large events where people are neither masked nor socially distanced. These super spreader events are happening more frequently as the rate of infection and death continues to increase.

Doesn’t it seem weird that since February this man knew the danger of COVID-19, bragged to Bob Woodward, and neither of them told us until recently? With that knowledge, Trump went on to bamboozle this country, throw a monkey wrench in the economy, destroy any rational relationships that we had with science and shut us off from the rest of the world. If you don’t believe me, then try making travel plans using your passport.
Every time that I see one of these rallies, I think of Jim Jones and his commune in Guyana during the ’70s. Those people followed that man to their deaths. Like lemmings to the cliff, thousands of Trump supporters are showing up at these events with their herd mentality realness while continuing to ignore the science. The difference is that the rally attendees sign away their rights to sue if they get sick from COVID-19. The folks of Jonestown left the country and created their own colony. How many of us have secretly thought that those Trump acolytes could do the same? Their leader does have resorts around the world, so I am sure that he could make it cute for them.
Shadiness aside, just know that these people are going to these events from many parts of this country, interacting with potentially infected people, getting infected, bringing it back to their family, friends, and coworkers, who in turn, spread it to many folks among their individual lives that might include you. It’s no wonder he confused the words while trying to rationalize his current pandemic response.
Not to be the conspiracy theorist in the room, but with all of the recent information that Trump seemed to have BEFORE the pandemic took hold, isn’t it weird that he continues to rally after rally, and they seem to get bigger? Within our zombie apocalypse-obsessed culture shouldn’t we be more concerned? Maybe COVID-19 is Mother Nature’s way of separating the wheat from the chaff?
Unlike the unfortunate souls of Jonestown, many of these Trump cult followers are living and breathing among us. Some are even spreading the word of God and COVID simultaneously. In any case, they are choosing to be the vessel by which the herd is thinned, as a blueprint to how it is ultimately going to happen if there ever is a zombie virus. Okay, maybe I am watching too much Walking Dead, but you get my drift.
To the still undecided voter, you have time to ruminate on your choice(s). Just remember that unless you hold major stocks, this economy is probably not your friend. If you have not noticed the fire tornadoes in the west, the Greek-lettered hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean, and Gulf Coast, or better yet their zombie sister, Paulette, then climate change may not be a concern for you, either. I can only hope that the health of you, your family, and friends during a pandemic, might help you decide.
Just remember that some people only got the choice of grape or cherry Kool-Aid. In the interim, I think that I will just wear a mask, socially distance, wash my hands, and wait for a non-Trump approved, or as we like to think, an actual science tested and approved vaccine.
