Just when I thought I had an extremely devout religious background, my next two guests take the Christian cake. Comedian Justin Randall and musician Calvin Arsenia have dedicated their new podcast – We Were Christian Kids – to exploring their evangelical past, their very queer present, and what that all means for their individual and collective futures. With the help of their guests (many of whom share similar backgrounds), they do a great job of inviting us into their dilemma of what truly comes after Christ. It also doesn’t hurt that they’ve been friends for almost half of their lives. I definitely got that sense during our chat, which took place shortly before Easter this year.
